Kosovo’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs has condemned the arrest of former KLA soldier Tomor Morina in North Macedonia, based on Serbia’s arrest warrant.

“We condemn the arrest of former KLA soldier by North Macedonian police based on an Interpol warrant sponsored by Serbian state.

This is yet another example of Serbia’s political abuse with the arrest warrant system. We will raise the issue at the European Union and request immediate actions to prevent such cases of abuse by Serbia,” wrote on his Facebook page Jetlir Zyberaj official of the Foreign Ministry of Kosovo.  He added that Kosovo will undertake counter measures.

“We are in contact with Skopje authorities and we believe that the case will soon be resolved in the spirit of close cooperation that we have with North Macedonia. We express appreciation for all North Macedonian authorities, especially the Albanian leadership there.”

Under a footnote, Zyberaj wrote that Serbia has committed the most serious crimes against humanity in Kosovo, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, after the Second World War, and yet it has not apologized. “Serbian state continues to obstruct reconciliation in the region,” Zyberaj concluded.
