The news website reports that the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK)  will hold its general convention this Saturday which will elect the party leader and the general council. Ramush Tahiri, a Pristina-based political commentator, told Telegrafi that he does not believe the LDK will have a consensual candidate for party leader. “I don’t believe there can be a consensual candidate that can accommodate everyone’s wishes. This is why there are democratic procedures in place where the party’s convention should have more candidates in two rounds of voting. The second round of voting would include three candidates and then the most voted candidate would be elected party leader. Any attempt to find a consensual candidate would help the issue but it would not solve it completely … Compromise usually does not result in the best choice,” Tahiri said.
