Political commentator Ramush Tahiri told the news website today that the Quint countries have always had a good position vis-a-vis Kosovo and its independence. “Dialogue has been stopped for nearly a year now … what is important about the statement [by Quint member states] is that Kosovo needs to suspend the tariff and that Serbia must stop its propaganda against Kosovo’s independence and against recognitions. I think it is a right and balanced call because the tariff was introduced due to Serbia’s aggressive policy against Kosovo’s independence. So if that aggressive policy is stopped there is no reason for the tariff to remain in force … The President and the Government must take into account the statement by the Quint countries and act as soon as possible. The Quint countries view Kosovo and Serbia as equal countries and they are calling for an agreement between Kosovo and Serbia,” Tahiri said.
