Pompeo: We discussed Kosovo-Serbia dialogue with Vucic

A meeting between the Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and the US State Secretary Mike Pompeo was held in New York.
As it was reported earlier, the Kosovo issue seems to have been the key topic at the meeting.
Following the meeting, Pompeo posted on Twitter that the key topic was the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue and Serbia’s accession to the EU. He added that normalisation of relations between the two countries strengthens stability of the entire region.
Serbian President Vucic, on the other hand, said that he had asked for the US Administration to try and use more strongly its influence on Kosovo, so that it can revoke the tariff.
Posting on his official Instagram profile, Vucic said that they discussed extensively everything, and added that Pompeo wanted to hear what Serbia thinks, first of all about resolving the Kosovo issue.
“I asked for the US Administration, although it has done it so far, to influence more strongly on the Albanians in Kosovo and Metohija, so that they can revoke the tariff imposed on us one year ago, and there is no doubt that we enjoy the US support in this matter,”, Vucic said.
“Both they (the US) and we think that it is important to continue the dialogue between Belgrade and Prishtinë/Pristina,” he added.
The working lunch, which was arranged in the margins of the UN Security Council meeting on the situation in Middle East, was closed to the media.

For the first time, the state of Kosovo is being neglected by the United States, showing once again that the relations between the two countries have already been damaged.
The US State Secretary Mike Pompeo has given clear signals to Kosovo and to its politicians. On Tuesday, he invited to a working meeting the Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic in New York, to tell him that Kosovo is the obstacle that has blocked the dialogue.
This will be one of the most important meetings that Vucic ever had with the White House officials, as he will be discussing the Kosovo issue and the agreement to be reached between the two countries.
The US with its decisions is indicating that the problem of blocking the dialogue and the failure to reach an agreement between the two countries lies in Prishtinë/Pristina, not in Belgrade.
Not only Pompeo, but also the right hand of President Donald Trump, as John Bolton is known in the US, cancelled his visit to Kosovo on 10th August this year, thus demonstrating that the situation with Kosovo has gone off the track.
He had cancelled his planned visit to Kosovo shortly before Ramush Haradinaj resigned his post of Prime Minister. The purpose of the visit had been to convey the ultimate messages and stances of the White House to Kosovo, with regard to the final agreement with Serbia.
Perhaps, cancelation of this visit was not the hardest action against Kosovo; what was harder was the meeting of John Bolton with the Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic in the White House. This meeting provoked a lot of reactions in Serbia, as a positive signal about the new relations between Serbia and the US.
This situation happened since the Kosovo Government, headed by Ramush Haradinaj, has continued with its anti-American policies, not adhering to the US calls for suspending the tariff on Serbia, in order to reach an agreement with Serbia.
At that time, the US offered Kosovo the possibility to establish the Army in exchange for suspending the tariff, but former Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj did not do that either.
Obvious evidence that Kosovo is being neglected by the US is the meeting with Vucic on Tuesday in New York, which will take place only between the friends Pompeo and the Serbian President, gazetametro.net reported.
Ramadani: Partition of Kosovo with unpredictable consequences

Caretaker Deputy Minister of Defence Burim Ramadani stated on Tuesday that territorial partition of Kosovo was a dangerous idea with unpredictable consequences.
On a Facebook post, he wrote that anyone who opposed this idea has served the country and the nation.
“Kosovo is not a temporary project. Territorial partition of Kosovo was a dangerous idea with unpredictable consequences, and in essence anti-European and anti-civilised. Anyone who opposed and who resisted this idea until the end has served the country and the nation. Had we served this idea, we would certainly not be able to establish the Army! For a 100 percent state!” he wrote.
Injured party accuses Court of taking sides in Muhaxheri case

For four years in a row, Hysni Selmanaj went through a court battle with the mayor of Pejë/Pec, Gazmend Muhaxheri.
But this week, the Basic Court in Pejë/Pec dropped charges against the mayor Muhaxheri, who was accused of not enforcing court decisions.
Since 2015, when Selmanaj was initially suspended from his position as Director of Internal Auditor and then fired, the Independent Oversight Board made the decision to return him to his job; however, the decision was not enforced by the mayor.
Even a wide range of other decisions of the Basic Court in Pejë/Pec and of the Court of Appeals, as well as fines estimated up to 10,000 euro for not enforcing court decisions by the mayor of Pejë/Pec was not sufficient for the Court in Pejë/Pec, which dropped the charges as ungrounded.
The decision of the Court in Pejë/Pec says that criminal proceedings against Gazmend Muhaxheri is ceased, because actions of the accused do not represent any criminal offence, and there is no sufficient evidence to support a well-grounded suspicion that the accused has committed this criminal offence.
However, Selmanaj says that he will not stop here.
He questions impartiality of the justice system, saying that the daughter of the judge, who dropped the charges against the mayor Muhaxheri, has been employed as a teacher at a school in Pejë/Pec municipality.
Pejë/Pec municipality officers confirmed that the daughter of the judge Sejdi Blakaj was employed one year ago as substitute at a school in Vitomirica, Pejë/Pec municipality, and that this was not related to this decision. They insist that the Municipality was not guilty in this judicial case.
KTV tried to get an answer from the judge Sejdi Blakaj, but he was reluctant to comment neither on the court decision nor on the case of his daughter’s employment.
