A court in Pristina has issued arrest warrants for four Serbs, former Kosovo Police officers charged with smuggling goods from Serbia, the Insajderi portal reported on Thursday.
The court is reported to have issued the arrest warrants on August 2, the KoSSev portal said.
Insajderi said that the four former police officers are suspected of abusing their powers by smuggling goods illegally across the border in both directions.
KoSSev recalled that Kosovo Police special units deployed in northern, mainly Serb-populated, areas and other parts of Kosovo on May 28, arresting 19 police officers (11 Serbs, four Albanians and four Bosniaks) suspected of involvement in organized crime and smuggling. A press release at the time said that the police did not arrest all suspects.
