Fatmir Limaj, leader of the Social Democratic Initiative (NISMA) and candidate for Prime Minister from the AKR-NISMA coalition, in an interview to T7 commented on recent remarks by Ramush Haradinaj who accused partners of the ruling coalition that they expected him to back down on his positions on the import tariff on Serbian products and possible partition after he was summoned by the special court. “I feel honoured that we respected our agreement until the very end. I find it difficult to explain the fulfilment I had when Ramush Haradinaj was elected Prime Minister. Other issues are matters of individual responsibilities. We worked to make him Prime Minister and I don’t want to add more to the issue,” he said. Limaj said the import tariff on Serbian products should not be lifted because of someone’s request. “The tariff should be removed when reasons why it was introduced no longer exist. The tariff cannot be removed because we want this or because someone is requesting this,” he added. Limaj said he would not agree to become Prime Minister if he does not have major support from the people. “The citizens of Kosovo will have their say in the elections. They choose the Prime Minister with their vote. I don’t want to become Prime Minister with 5 or 7 percent. The Prime Minister must have most votes,” he said. Limaj said Serbia will eventually recognise Kosovo. “We will start the dialogue for recognition. Kosovo is in the final phase of talks. In Rambouillet we negotiated to end the war. In Vienna, we negotiated on Kosovo’s status, and now we will have dialogue for recognition,” Limaj added.
