The village of Cernica in Gjilan municipality is known for the co-existence between Albanians and Serbs. The latter say that they have great relations with their Albanian neighbours, but that they are greatly concerned by the policies of the Serbian List led by Goran Rakic, the news website reports. “We are still suffering, not from Albanians, but from Serbs and the Serbian List,” Serb villagers said. A Serb villager said he decided to sell his house to an Albanian in sign of revolt against the policies of the Serbian List. “Serbs are silent and are being intimidated. Everyone is nervous but they cannot do anything,” another resident said. The Serb residents have reportedly decided not to send their children to school because teachers there are selected by the Serbian List and are unprofessional. “Because of the policies of the Serbian List, 7 out of 10 children will not go to school in the village of Cernica,” a Serb resident, who preferred to remain anonymous, said.
