European Commission’s President-elect, Ursula von der Leyen, said that the Western Balkans will be one of the priorities of her presidency, Tirana-based Top Channel reported.
After presenting her team of commissioners in Brussels yesterday, von der Leyen said: “I hope the Western Balkans will be close to EU as soon as possible.”
Speaking about the EU integration process of the Western Balkans countries, she said that enlargement rules have not changed. “There are some fundamental values that aspiring countries need to show they respect,” von der Leyen said.
