Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said today after meeting the Pope Francis that Vatican conducts serious policy and it would maintain its position on the issue of Kosovo and Metohija, RTS reports.
“This is what I can say and what is important to the citizens,” Vucic said when asked how much is he sure that Vatican will not change its stance on Kosovo. He added that Vatican wishes talks and peaceful solution between Serbs and Albanians.
Vucic did not elaborate on details of the Pope’s stance, respecting the rules of Vatican diplomacy and protocol, RTS added. Vucic also said he told the Pope about the Serbian holy shrines in Kosovo, the difficult situation of the Serbian people and attempts to reach a compromise solution for Kosovo.
