Deputy leader of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), Visar Ymeri, said pressure and intimidation from Belgrade authorities towards Kosovo Serbs to vote for the Serbian List prove the necessity of the new government of Kosovo not being dependent on this political party.
Ymeri said Kosovo institutions and society should create conditions for Serbs in Kosovo to be free to choose their political representatives and to be protected by the Belgrade authorities’ ‘totalitarian’ mindset. “Tolerating Belgrade’s actions in the name of the need for Serbia’s political control over Kosovo Serbs for the sake of internal stability and future political processes is preventing development of an authentic representation of Serbs living in Kosovo alongside the others,” Ymeri wrote on Facebook.
