In an interview with VOA in Albanian, leader of the Social Democratic Initiative (NISMA) and candidate for prime minister Fatmir Limaj said that his priorities include dialogue with Serbia and foreign policy, economic development, diaspora and justice reform.

“As you know, I have made an invitation to all counter candidates to make a pledge on dialogue. We believe that a broad consensus on dialogue, as an important issue not only for Kosovo but also the region, is very important in order for partners to have a clear position on this issue affecting all and once and for all close dialogue with Serbia,” Limaj said.

“Our position has been consistent since the beginning. The government of Kosovo imposed the tax by building its political position that the tax will be lifted when the reasons that led the government of Kosovo to introduce it cease to exist and we think there are certain economic and political reasons that made Kosovo take such a measure,” he said.

Limaj said he is a proponent of reciprocity measures not only with Serbia but with all other countries. “It is a legal measure that can be applied and is recognised in the international law and in the relations between countries and such a measure I believe encourages parties to respect one another.”

“The closing of open issues between Kosovo and Serbia would finally end the open conflict in this part of Europe and bring an opportunity to our two countries to free our internal energies and focus them on developments and problems we each face in our respective countries.”
