The Election Complaints and Appeals Panel (ECAP) has so far fined six political entities for violating election campaign rules, said head of ECAP Secretariat Mul Desku.
Desku said that as of 25 September when the election campaign was launched, ECAP received 49 complaints for violation of rules. “36 complaints have been reviewed, 25 confirmed, 11 refused, and 13 are still under review procedure,” Desku said.
Desku said parties have been fined for a number of violations including putting up posters on public spaces, using children in campaign, pressure on voters, hate speech, use of public post for political campaign.
