The sensitive election material from all Kosovo municipalities is on its way to the Counting and Results Centre and all of it is expected to arrive by the end of today, said Central Election Commission (CEC) spokesperson Valmir Elezi.
Elezi said that conditional ballots as well as those of special-needs persons and mailed ballots will be counted in the coming days. Elezi said the CEC does not know the exact number of these ballots but noted that 2,785 persons are registered with the CEC as having special needs while with regards to mailed ballots, the CEC has received 16,000 packages.
Elezi also said that he was hopeful the CEC will officially announce preliminary results of yesterday’s parliamentary elections in the course of today and that so far ballots from 97 percent of the polling stations have been counted.
