Earlier, the Director of the Football Club Trepca from northern Kosovo Bojan Jaksic confirmed to the Kosovo online website that Pristina authorities banned the game between Serbia’s champion Red Star Belgrade and the Serbian club based in North Mitrovica.
The two teams were supposed to play in the second round of Serbia’s Cup competition.
“Kosovo must be immediately expelled from both UEFA and FIFA,” Marko Djuric, the head of Serbia’s Office for Kosovo said after Red Star team was not allowed to Kosovo.
Strong Kosovo police presence was noticed at the Jarinje border crossing, with two Special force’s vehicles as well.
The Red Star supporters from the northern Zvecan town and players were expected at the crossing at 11:30 am local time, while the match was scheduled for 2 pm.
