Russia’s Ambassador to Serbia, Alexander Botsan-Kharchenko, in an interview to Vecernje Novosti on Wednesday said he is sceptical that the position of the United States of America could translate in an opportunity to resume the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina. Asked to comment on U.S. President Trump’s decision to appoint a special envoy for the talks, Botsan – Kharchenko said Moscow has made it clear on several occasions that the U.S. position toward Kosovo and the talks needs to be analysed. He also said that Brussels has diminished its own role in the process by allowing Pristina to block the previous agreements, to introduce the import tariff and block the process of dialogue. “If there is readiness to resume the dialogue, Belgrade’s demands must be taken into account. This is an issue that requires great attention,” he added.
