Osmani asks Serb citizens to change their license plates (Koha)
The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has said that she will soon visit the citizens in the north of Kosovo.She has called on the Serb citizens in the north to change the illegal license plates issued by Serbia.
“Very soon I will be in the north to visit the citizens. As for the visits to the municipalities, there must also be a will from the mayors of the municipalities, as there was from the mayor of Mamusha. I want to appeal to all Serb citizens living in the north of Kosovo not to fall prey to Russian-Serbian propaganda. The institutions of Kosovo have a goal, that the citizens are equal, treated the same before the law, and to provide them with a peaceful, safe and equal life. They have this extraordinary opportunity to change license plates without spending money, to remove those from the time of Milosevic, and to accept and install those recognized by the institutions of Kosovo. Unfortunately, they are threatened every day by criminal structures, by criminal gangs. Our police will be there to protect them, they are never there to threaten. We are there to protect all communities,” Osmani said during the meeting in Mamusha with the mayor Abdulhadi Krasniq.
She said that Kosovo is cooperating with international partners to prevent the destabilization of the situation.
Kosovo complains to the EU about the partial recognition of identity cards from Serbia (Koha)
Serbia is not recognizing the identification documents issued by Kosovo at all its border points. After many Kosovars were not allowed to enter with IDs at the crossing points that Serbia has with other countries, Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that this constitutes a violation of the agreement.
“We have insisted on freedom of movement and it would mean complete freedom of movement, as truncated freedom is not freedom. The deputy prime minister is also addressing this with the mediators. For the border points between Kosovo and Serbia, without a doubt, it is valid,” Kurti said.
“Except that the way I understand it, we cannot have truncated or partial freedom of movement.”

The Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti together with the Minister of Internal Affairs Xhelal Svecla, in marking the 23rd anniversary of the Kosovo Police, placed a bouquet of flowers at the place where the policeman Enver Zymberi was killed on the national road that connects Mitrovica with Zubin Potok, near the village of Zubc.
“On the occasion of the 23rd anniversary of the establishment of the Kosovo Police, Prime Minister Kurti remembered Enver Zymberi, who fell in the performance of his official duties and in carrying out the mission for the full extent of sovereignty and legality in the Republic of Kosovo,” the government communique states.
Kurti and Svecla also visited the new base of the Kosovo Police in Jasenovik in Zubin Potok, as well as the Belvedere special unit camp in Mitrovica.
Cyber-attack on Kosovo institutions’ official pages (media)
Perparim Kryeziu, media officer of the government of Kosovo has announced that after the problems with the internet service, experts have concluded that it was a cyber-attack that came from outside Kosovo.
According to him, the attack did not penetrate the infrastructure, adding that currently the situation is stable.
“Yesterday and today, there were occasional problems with the Internet service in the Institutions of the Republic of Kosovo. The cyber security sector team at the Information Society Agency in collaboration with external experts have identified that the problem with the internet service is a consequence of the cyber-attack. The cyber attack did not penetrate the infrastructure of the state computer network as it was blocked by the relevant security equipment. It has been identified that the cyber attack came from outside Kosovo and the target was the IP where several web pages of the Institutions of the Republic of Kosovo were published. The Information Society Agency, namely the cyber security team, has undertaken concrete actions in order to overcome this cyber-attack and return the internet service to function. At the moment, the situation is stabile – the internet service as well as other online services and websites are functional and accessible. The cyber security team at ASHI will continue to monitor the security of government services and systems and will take the necessary measures for their smooth operation and security,” he said.
Osmani calls on teachers to return to school: The damage to children is irreparable (media)
The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has called on teachers to stop their strike and return to school.
During a visit to the municipality of Mamusha, Osmani said everything can be solved, but the damage done to children by not being able to attend their classes is irreparable.
“From here I call on all the teachers in Mamushe and everywhere else in Kosovo to join forces and return to school, which is the institution that offers all the possible support and knowledge to our students, and our children; and let us move forward in realizing the demands within the realm of possibilities that can be offered by the Republic of Kosovo,” Osmani said.
Mehaj and Lambrecht discuss cooperation in the field of defense (media)
Kosovo’s Minister of Defense Armend Mehaj met on Tuesday with Germany’s Minister of Defense Christine Lambrecht. They discussed about bilateral cooperation in the field of defense as well as further deepening of cooperation between the two respective ministries. According to the sources of Deutsche Welle, they also discussed the situation in Kosovo and efforts to normalize relations between Serbia and Kosovo.
In addition to expressing gratitude for the great support in the construction and development of the KSF, Minister Mehaj reiterated his deep gratitude for the German investments in Kosovo as well as for the very valuable contribution of the military troops of the German forces in the KFOR operation to the security of the Kosovo and its people.
Slovenian President Borut Pahor to visit Kosovo today (RTK)
This afternoon, Slovenian President Borut Pahor will arrive for a visit to Kosovo. He is expected to meet with the President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani in Pristina.
The tour of the president of Slovenia comes in the framework of the preparations for the 11th summit of the Brdo-Brion process, on September 12, in Brdo near Kranja. The President of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, is conducting a tour of visits to the countries of the Western Balkans. He stayed in Belgrade three days ago, and today, Pahor will visit Kosovo.
The model of “two Germanys” proposed in 2012 for final solution, returns to the table (Albanian Post)
The news website reports that the “two Germanys model” is the model by which a final agreement between Kosovo and Serbia is expected to be reached.
Albanian Post claims to own the document which reportedly is a framework text/agreement, drafted as early as 2012, and consists of 12 points.
According to this model, Kosovo and Serbia will not recognize each other’s independence, but both parties, according to the agreement, undertake the establishment of liaison offices at the headquarters of the government/liaison offices in the respective territory.
The document reportedly states that neither party should violate the territorial integrity and at the same time, the relations between them should be based on good neighborliness, always through the full implementation of the agreements reached through the mediation of the European Union.
It provides that eventual disputes will be resolved by peaceful means, as provided for by the Charter of the United Nations Organization.
Also, it is said that Kosovo and Serbia should work together in clarifying the fate of the missing and the return of displaced persons during the last war in Kosovo.
According to this model, the demarcation of the border between Kosovo and Serbia is foreseen, that is, establishment of new border points.
Respecting and guaranteeing the rights of minorities in both countries remains a condition for reaching a stable agreement. Education, culture, religion, religious beliefs, and language of minority communities will enjoy special treatment.
Further, as stated in the text of the document, Kosovo and Serbia must support each other’s aspirations towards the EU and harmonize their policies with EU standards.
Some points of this agreement are also provided for in the Brussels Agreement. According to some information, the text of the final solution to the problem of Kosovo is currently being worked on and will be based on this model.
The German foundation “Konrad Adenauer”, which is close to the CDU once in power, headed by former chancellor Angela Merkel, was behind this text and it was written by experts from Kosovo and those from Serbia, the news website reports.
The Police Union warns of union actions (KosovaPress)
On the 23rd anniversary of the institution of the Kosovo Police, police officers still do not have health insurance, nor has their common request for the Law on early retirement been endorsed, reports the news website.
