“Be they good or bad, they are the ones representing us in the Parliament of Kosovo. With stolen votes or with well-earned ones, legislators have the constitutional mandate to adopt historic decisions. After all, this parliament, same as the previous mandates, embodies the quality of our democracy, the level of policy-making, the assessment of the present and the vision for the future. Members of parliament can obey their parties, but they can also oppose them. Only five MPs did the latter. They voted against the 15-point agreement for the normalization of relations with Serbia. Many others have probably shared their opinion, but they did not ruin the finale of a long and painful process,” the paper’s front-page editorial notes. “Representatives of the people have shouldered the responsibility for an agreement that opens a new chapter. They could have acted differently, but over two thirds of parliament removed the heavy burden from Prime Minister Thaçi. Since Sunday evening, the majority of the opposition has no arguments to make accusations about the north. The Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo provides that no international agreement can be ratified in parliament without two third of votes.”
