“The only reason due to which Serbs supported the Brussels agreement was the establishment of the Association / Community of Serb municipalities (ZSO). If this topic will not be discussed in Brussels within a reasonable period, it can produce much bigger problems for Kosovo society and the international community,” said Mayor of Gracanica, Vladeta Kostic.
According to him, at the next meeting in Brussels between Prime Ministers Aleksandar Vucic and Isa Mustafa should be agreed concrete solutions. “For the full implementation of all that technical teams have agreed in Brussels is required political support. The most important figures are Prime Ministers, and from such political support depend the very implementation of what was agreed at the technical level,” says Kostic.
He recalls that the issue of ZSO has already been launched in the previous technical talks between the negotiating team from Belgrade and the EU. “We were told that the Pristina team did not participate due to personal problems of some of the team members. I expect that in the next round, at the technical and political level, the Pristina team will take a part. ZSO has already been agreed and initialled in Brussels by the former Prime Ministers of Kosovo and Serbia, and thus the commitment has been taken over and backed by Brussels. This topic will be discussed sooner or later,” underlined Kostic.
