Hashim Thaci can’t become president of Kosovo without the support of Serbs, and if he becomes the president that would mean that someone in between Belgrade and Pristina will profit from it, said former Serb MP in the Kosovo parliament Rada Trajkovic.

Trajkovic said on ‘Kaziprst’, a B92 TV show, that Thaci doesn’t enjoy support from the US and that he is trying in every way possible to become president because of the creation of a court for Kosovo Liberation Army war crimes. She went on to say that the election of the President of Kosovo is one of four security risks for the territory of Kosovo and Metohija, “which is entering into a very dangerous period”.

Huge challenges lay ahead of us, beside the election of the president, there will be protests by the opposition on 17 February, then there is the Islamic State making their presence in Kosovo public and finally the elections for Serbian parliament to take place on Kosovo territory, said Trajkovic. She also said that the European Union has neither a powerful role in Kosovo, nor any influence on Kosovo Albanians.

Trajkovic also reflected on the agreement on the creation of the Association/Community of Serb-majority municipalities, stating that it consists entirely of promises and words, but no concrete action.
