The Kosovo Women Network (KWN) in a press release today condemned the sexual harassment of a 13-year-old by Mitrovica Municipal Assembly member Bekim Muja. “Sexual harassment is an act that should be punished according to the laws in force, and in particular should be taken very seriously when the victims of this criminal act are children. Experiencing sexual harassment takes a heavy toll on the welfare of the victim, and when it comes to children, it may result in isolation caused by fear of harassment. The KWN appreciates the necessary actions taken by the police and prosecution in this case, hoping that justice will do its job and will sentence the person who committed the crime. We encourage all persons who have experienced sexual harassment or have witnessed sexual harassment cases, to report it to the relevant institutions,” reads the press release.
