Haradinaj: Demarcation issue more urgent than Association/Community (RTK)

The leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ramush Haradinaj, told RTK that the issue of border-demarcation with Montenegro is more urgent than the issue of Association/Community of Serb-majority municipalities. According to him, someone has to meet with Montenegro officials in order to correct this issue once and for all. He said the AAK and Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) will not stop opposing the government’s actions. He added that they don’t have meetings with Vetëvendosje since the united opposition split up, and accused Vetevendosje officials for campaigning against the protest of 14 May called by AAK and NISMA.

Thaci’s former advisor, Dukagjin Gorani, joins Vetevendosje (dailies)

Dukagjin Gorani, former advisor to Hashim Thaci when he was Prime Minister of Kosovo, yesterday announced that he joined Vetëvendosje Movement.  “I am honored to be a member of Vetëvendosje… It was more difficult for them than it was for me to be here,” Gorani said, adding that people are joining Vetëvendosje because of attitudes and beliefs. He said he chose Vetëvendosje because, according to him, it was the only organisation that decided to resist and oppose the political culture in Kosovo. “Vetëvendosje is the only organisation that is determined to resist today’s political scene. I believe Vetëvendosje has the potential to change the model; it only needs support and help. The only opposition came from Vetëvendosje,” added Gorani, saying the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo and Initiative for Kosovo were activated only recently.

Koci: PDK to explain why I was not appointed as justice minister (Epoka e Re)

Gani Koci, member of the presidency of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), in an interview with the paper said the PDK has to explain why he was not appointed as Justice Minister. According to him, the PDK’s leadership had decided on 13 May to nominate him for the post of Justice Minister, alongside Enver Hoxhaj who was appointed as Foreign Minister and Hajredin Kuçi who took the post of the Deputy Prime Minister. “I consider that the decision of the presidency of the PDK on 13 May to nominate me for the post of Justice Minister is still in force, as it was not repealed by any other decision,” Koci said. He said that no one has officially told him that his name was unwanted by the international community.

Former MP Geci found guilty on murder charges (dailies)

A panel of international judges at the Mitrovica Basic Court on Friday found guilty the former Kosovo MP, Gani Geci, for murder and unauthorized possession of weapon. Geci was found guilty of killing Ruzhdi Shaqiri in August 2014, in Skenderaj/Srbica. He has been sentenced to four years and six month of imprisonment.
