The Parliamentary Group of the Vetëvendosje movement requested that the Chairmanship of the Assembly of Kosovo call an extraordinary session today to debate the Serbian platform. According to this movement, this session should be held prior to the meeting between Hashim Thaçi and Ivica Dacic on 17 January in Brussels.

However, this request has not been approved because Albin Kurti’s party has not officialized its request. In order to do this, Vetëvendosje requires signatures of 40 deputies of the Kosovo Parliament.

“Today we protocoled an official  request at the Assembly for a special debate at the Assembly on the Serbian platform. The platform entirely concerns the internal order of Kosovo, therefore the dialogue has undergone substantial change. So far, we only have the signatures of our deputies, I believe that during the day, we will have the sufficient number of signatures for this initiative,” said Visar Ymeri, chief of the Vetëvendosje Parliamentary Group.

On the other hand, Assembly deputy Chairperson Xhavit Haliti stated that heads of Parliamentary Groups have not supported Vetëvendosje’s initiative for a debate at the Assembly because it did not undergo official protocol procedures.
