Mimoza Kusari-Lila, mayor of the Gjakova municipality, in an interview for the news website, denied rumours that the new political party, which is expected to be formed this month, will serve as a satellite for the bigger political parties in Kosovo. Kusari-Lila said the new party will be a model for the bigger parties. “Personally I could have joined any of the current parties but I have seen that a new alternative is needed to advance democracy and well-being in Kosovo. By no means will we serve as a satellite for someone else,” she said. According to Kusari-Lila, the new political party will be announced this month but she did not disclose its name. “In terms of the name, we are making final consultations for our first public appearance and I believe that everything will be ready. We will reveal details in the coming days,” she said. Kusari-Lila said that in addition to Ilir Deda, the new party will include many names; however, she did not say if Pristina-based attorney Dastid Pallaska will also be a member of the new party. “The people are asking for a new alternative and we will assume the responsibility of change and a new approach vis-a-vis decision-making processes in the country”.
