Kosovo President Hashim Thaci participated today in the launch of OSCE’s information campaign on package of laws on human rights. Thaci said that the rights and fundamental freedoms are indivisible, inalienable and inviolable and are the basis of the legal order guaranteed by the Constitution of Kosovo. According to him, the legal framework regulating the field of human rights is significantly advanced with the adoption of a package of laws on human rights, including the Law on Protection from Discrimination, the Law on Gender Equality and Law on Ombudsman. He said Kosovo is a country that fights discrimination against citizens. “I thank all competent authorities for the protection of human rights. I invite everyone to make a greater effort in eradicating discrimination. Let us make a state where there is no basis for any form of discrimination. I invite all relevant mechanisms, especially the Ombudsman, to join in our work. I confirm the commitment of the Kosovo institutions that we will not allow unequal treatment of Kosovo citizens,” Thaci said.
