Two weeks after the President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, sent a letter to the Assembly President, Kadri Veseli, to inform him that the appointment of the Customs Director based on the memorandum signed with the British Embassy, is illegal, the Ministry of Finance came out with a clarification which stresses that all foreseen parameters for the position were respected. “Therefore, the recruitment process of the Customs General Director has not violated any provision of the Customs and Excise Code and the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding is done without interfering in the legislation in force,” reads the press release.
