President of Kosovo Hashim Thaci told Croatian paper Nacional that the dialogue with Belgrade is not easy but that there is no alternative to it until it culminates with Serbia’s recognition of Kosovo. “I have led the war for liberation of Kosovo but I also led the dialogue for good neighbourly relations with Serbia because it was the necessary thing to do,” Thaci said adding that he was aware that Serbia plans to divide Kosovo but vowed that such a scenario will not materialize: “We all know Serbia knows how to start wars but not to how to win them”. Thaci also said that in private conversation with Serbia’s leaders they all admit Kosovo is independent. “They all know Kosovo will join NATO and the EU.”
