In an interview to Ekonomia Online, Vetevendosje’s Rexhep Selimi said they continue to have red lines towards possible cooperation with the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and the Serbian List but not with regards to other political entities. However, Selimi said that constitutionally, the post of Assembly speaker belongs to the PAN coalition led by the PDK. “We will respect the Constitution giving priority to the leading entity to have the speaker’s post”, Selimi said.

Asked about the statement of President Hashim Thaci that he plans to follow the 2014 model by giving only the leading coalition the possibility to form the new government, Selimi said Vetevendosje would not respect any unconstitutional decision.

As to the idea of Albanian national unification that Vetevendosje has advocated for, Selimi said the concept continues to be part of the party’s programme but that it will not be pursued “at the present circumstances”.
