President of the Coordination Body of the Serbian Government for Preševo, Bujanovac and Medveđa Zoran Stanković states that that there is no parallel between solving the problem of the Serbs in Kosovo and local self-governments in the south of Serbia where Albanians live.
– There is no parallel between the resolution of the problem of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija and the resolution of the functioning of local self-governments in the three municipalities in the south of Serbia – Preševo, Bujanovac and Medveđa, because all this is defined by the law; and the state of Serbia, in the limits of its possibilities and capabilities, is doing everything to solve demands of the leaders of these three municipalities, Stanković told Radio Free Europe.
Bujanovac Municipal Mayor Shaip Kamberi said that Serbia’s attitude towards the Albanians in the south is important for the position of the Serbs in Kosovo.
Shaip Kamberi said that “the normalization of the relations between Belgrade and Pristina should pass through the Preshevo Valley”.
