LDK-Vetevendosje efforts for agreement intensify (Koha Ditore)
From Monday, the LDK-AKR-Alternativa coalition and Vetevendosje Movement will meet every day in order to draw near their positions in efforts to gain the parliamentarian majority. The two parties met on Friday and named members of the political and program working group in order to harmonize their positions and governing priorities. “After reaching the agreement on the governing platform, LAA coalition and Vetevendosje Movement will be open to create the required consensus on the new government and on the matters of special importance for Kosovo,” said Ilir Deda from LAA coalition.
PAN to continue with Veseli, despite failures (Zeri)
Kadri Veseli is the only candidate of the PDK-AAK-NISMA coalition for the Assembly President, despite the fact that he has not managed so far to gain the required votes from MPs. “We have decided on our candidate for the Assembly President and we will not change him,” said Xhavit Haliti, MP from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK). He added that political discussions to reach the 61 required votes have already started, and that their strategy to gain these votes will be known during the next Assembly session.
Brnabic: I do not belive Serbia would recognize Kosovo (media)
Ana Brnabic, Prime Minister of Serbia, told Ora News that she does not believe that Serbia would ever recognize Kosovo. “I do not believe that recognition of Kosovo has happened, but a call for dialogue between the countries for better relations in the future was made. We should have as good relation as possible and we should pursue the steps we agreed upon. Serbia has done a lot to implement all the pints from the dialogue process and we need Pristina to start working on the most important parts of the agreement for stability of the Serb community. I hope that the dialogue will continue,” Brnabic said.
Mustafa: I do not see any possibility for broad-based government (media)
The outgoing Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, told Kosova Press that it is a political and moral obligation of the Vetevendosje Movement to clarify all the attacks, threats and files sent to the prosecution, and many other issues undertaken against him. He explained that he has never requested from Vetevendosje to withdraw accusations from prosecution, being that prosecution had its say on the matters and that nothing was found to incriminate him.
He also requested from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), and its partners to proceed with selection of the Assembly President and open way to creation of institutions. Mustafa said that Ramush Haradinaj’s idea for a broad-based government is unachievable.
Serbia threatens FYROM over Kosovo (RTK)
Serbia’s Minister of Defence, Aleksandar Vulin, said that it is a business of the authorities in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, how they lead their country, but they should know that it is very important that Kosovo does not become member of UNESCO and INTERPOL. “We believe that Kosovo cannot and should not become member of these organisations,” Vulin said. He added that all the countries are aware that “our relations will be based on this to a great extent.”
Bahtiri: AKR to unblock political situation very soon (Lajmi.net)
Mayor of Mitrovica South and deputy leader of the New Kosovo Alliance (AKR), Agim Bahtiri, said that if the current political situation continues until the local elections, then his party would definitely unblock the situation. “Any discussions to unblock the situation are welcomed,” he said.
“I have called and I am calling again all the party leaders to sit, discuss and find a solution. This has been my request for so long; they should not see personal or party interests and go for a blockade until the local elections. Because this is the intention, after local elections everyone would unite with PAN,” Bahtiri said.
