Kosovo Ombudsman Hilmi Jashari said human rights have been violated in the process of detention and deportation of six Turkish citizens, regional broadcaster N1 reports.
Jashari points out that their right was violated when they were deported without a court procedure and which requires the Constitution and the laws of Kosovo.
“When someone is charged with security threats, he or she should be brought before the courts. In the court procedure is determined whether someone should be expelled or not. If such a decision is made, then it should be ensured that there is no danger in the country of admission for that person “, Jashari said.
He underlines that the International Court of Justice noted that in Turkey a danger exist for deportees and that the institutions of Kosovo should have had this in mind.
“A human rights violation is considered when deportees return to a country where there is a danger that there will be no good human treatment,” the Kosovo ombudsman said.
He also pointed out that the violation of human rights is and the inability to use the right of appeal, reports N1.
