The New Kosovo Alliance (AKR), a partner in the ruling coalition led by Behgjet Pacolli, has decided to nominate Bejtush Gashi for the post of Interior Minister, after Flamur Sefaj resigned the post following the arrest and deportation of six Turkish nationals. AKR leader Pacolli confirmed the information to the news website and added that he has submitted the nomination to Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj. “Yes it is true. Bejtush Gashi will be the new Minister of Interior. I have submitted my decision to Prime Minister Haradinaj today,” Pacolli said. The news website notes that Gashi is currently working as dean at the Faculty for Public Security in Vushtrri. From 2011 to 2014, he was deputy minister for the Kosovo Security Force.
