Haradinaj: We expect European Parliament’s support on visas (RTK)

“Kosovo is committed to its European and Euro-Atlantic integration path. Our citizens deserve to be equal and move freely in the EU countries and we are expecting to receive the just and deserved news for liberalization of visas as soon as possible,” said the Prime Minister of Kosovo Ramush Haradinaj during the meeting with Vice President of the European Parliament, and German-centre right MEP, Rainer Wieland, Ambassador Christian Heldt and head of the “Konrad Adenauer” office in Kosovo, Johanes Rey.

During the meeting, Haradinaj informed Wieland on commitment of the government to fulfill all its obligations for the European agenda, achievements on the rule of law, initiative for administrative reform, on advancing  good neighborly relations, achievement on economic development as well as the need to conclude discussions with Serbia.

“Kosovo is ready for visa liberlaisation and we expect support of the European Parliament on this process, which is vital for our citizens,” PM Haradinaj said.

He further stressed the importance of the intensification of economic cooperation. We have the required resources, suitable for German investors and now is the time to see concrete projects,” Haradinaj said.

Speaking about visa liberalization, Haradinaj said that Kosovo is now a new reality, from which EU countries could not have problems.

Vice President of the European Parliament Reiner Wieland expressed appreciation for the hospitality and readiness for cooperation on specific projects in the field of education with EU and German government programs. He also expressed support for Kosovo on its way of strengthening the rule of law and approximation with the European agenda.
