Serbia will cooperate with the Special Court for KLA crimes, and it would be good if there are even theoretic chances that some of the criminals are punished, however, we should not have unrealistic expectations, Serbian Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija Director Marko Djuric said speaking for the RTS news edition.

Djuric added, Belgrade is for a compromised solution when it comes to Kosovo and will not accept unilateral impositions.

Asked to comment on a request of a newly appointed Special Court prosecutor to have one year to get acquired with the cases, Djuric said that “if they wanted these people to be punished, they would not keep them in power in the southern Serbian province for 16, 17 years.”

Commenting on the Serbian Orthodox Church (SOC) message on Kosovo, Djuric said that he has great respect for the Church and its spiritual experience, however, he would like to see more concrete proposals from the SOC on how to resolve the Kosovo issue, rather than just listing problems.

Djuric added there should be unity when it comes to the Kosovo issue, however, there are politicians who consider Serbia needs no unity on this matter.

“We saw the visit of Cedomir Jovanovic to Pristina, expressing stances that are contrary to the interests of Serbia, when you go to Pristina and tell you practically support independence of Kosovo and Metohija. And that you support membership of Kosovo in international organizations (…).”

Djuric also said, people should know that “Cedomir Jovanovic has less than 1 percent support in Serbia, while in Pristina he managed now to secure some sympathy,” RTS reported.
