Haradinaj: Violent extremism and radicalism do not have a single homeland (RTK)

Kosovo’s Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, spoke at the global security conference which is being held in Tirana, about Kosovo’s constructive role and contribution on regional and wider cooperation, in function of creation of peace and stability.

He said that the conference helps nations on fighting violent extremism. He added that religious communities and religious leaders will continue to be among the most significant partners in the war against messages of extremism and violent radicalization, therefore close cooperation with them will continue in order strengthen relations among different religious communities.

Speaking about global challenges, and future steps to overcome them, Haradinaj said Kosovo has endorsed the Strategy for Prevention Violent Extremism and Radicalism which leads to Terrorism as well as the action plan. He added that Kosovo institutions are determined to prevent any kind of spreading of extremist ideologies with potential of terrorism, and they have endorsed the Law which prohibits its citizens to participate in foreign wars.

Haradinaj said violent extremism and radicalism are occurrences which do not have one fatherland, or a certain location, but they represent danger for the contemporary world, human kind, peace and especially for innocent people.

Haradinaj finally reiterated the request for Kosovo’s membership at international security institutions, especially at INTERPOL as well as possibility of cooperation with EUROPOL to give its contribution.
