People’s Party Leader Vuk Jeremic said the opposition bloc is one step away from forming the Alliance for Serbia whose key policy would be opposition to signing the agreement on Kosovo that would allow the official Pristina a seat at the UN.

He noted that the party had defined this as a priority during negotiations concerning the Alliance for Serbia and stressed that they have reached an agreement on this issue.
Jeremic added that they even formed joint program goals and that the agreement on the formation of the Alliance is ready for to be signed, which will happen by the end of July.

Serbia’s former Foreign Minister pointed out that no one in the world is pressuring Serbia to sign the Kosovo agreement, and that the EU membership will not be possible for many years to come.

“The only reward Serbia would get from offering Kosovo a UN seat is four more years of (President) Aleksandar Vucic in office with the silent support from the West for his primitive outbursts and destruction of state institutions and resources,” he concluded.
