Several media reported today that the draft statute of the Association/Community of Serb-majority municipalities, sent to the Kosovo government by the Management Team, is in opposition with the Constitution of Kosovo. Government officials said they would send back the draft statute. The Management Team however issued a press release this morning saying they will send the draft statute to Brussels and that they will submit only a working report to the government. “The draft statute has not been submitted to the government in Pristina, contrary to some media reports. We only sent a report on our work so far, and through the Ministry for Local Government, the government was regularly informed about the pace of our activities … The Management Team bases its work on the results of dialogue in Brussels and the European Charter for Local Self-Government … The politicization of our activities damages the process of dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade,” the press release noted.
