In an interview to the Turkish news agency Anadolu Agency, President of Kosovo Hashim Thaci said he hoped good news will soon come from Brussels regarding visa liberalisation for Kosovo and added that Kosovo institutions have fully implemented all the required criteria. Speaking from Ankara where he attended inauguration ceremony for President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Thaci pledged Kosovo’s cooperation with Turkey will continue in all spheres. Asked to comment on Kosovo media reports that negatively depict Turkey’s investment, Thaci replied: “Debate in Kosovo involves all issues and I think it is important to have it. Now the power of social networks, online media, possibility of expressions of opinions of different people, competent or not, is extraordinary. However, Kosovo-Turkey relations are above the daily opinions of this or that media outlet. We should also get used to this environment. I am also one of those accused and slammed by the media, but this is what democracy is about.”
