RTV Mir in Leposavic Director, Nenad Radosavljevic, speaking for “Slobodno sprski” talk show said that responsible bodies in Pristina cannot shed the light on the murder of Oliver Ivanovic, since they lack capacities and experience while Belgrade “simply does not want to do so,” Radio KIM reported.
Radosavljevic added Pristina does not have a real power in the north of Kosovo, and it is in Belgrade’s hands. He said local authorities in the north were elected based on Kosovo laws, but these authorities always listen to Belgrade. He also said if the police structures in the north have to decide upon something proposed by Belgrade and Pristina, they would always choose what Belgrade has said.
Asked if it means that Belgrade prevents to discover who has murdered Oliver Ivanovic, Radosavljevic said it suits Belgrade that it did not get the green light from Pristina to formally engage in the investigation.
Radosavljevic also touched upon preconditions for the normalization of relations between Serbs and Albanians, saying the preconditions should be created in Kosovo and not in Brussels. He believes it is in some sort of a dialogue within Kosovo, between Albanian and Serbian population.
“That is normalization, relations between us, within Kosovo. This internal dialogue in Kosovo between the Serbian and Albanian representatives is an essence to resolve all the issues.”
According to Radosavljevic, division of Kosovo or delineation does not suit Serbs in the north of Kosovo, where the north of Kosovo would belong to Serbia and would remain an undeveloped area, while if the north would become part of Kosovo, discrimination by Pristina would lead toward a complete economic stagnation and dying out of the population as it is the case with many Serb-populated areas. Radosavljevic thinks that frozen conflict is currently best solution to the Kosovo issue.
He also said it would be hard to reach any compromise on the Kosovo issue, since the consequences for main negotiators would be losing the power, and nobody wants to lose the power, Radio KIM reported.
