Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic told RTS that at this moment USA and Russia absolutely support the Brussels dialogue and are ready to accept a solution that is reached in the agreement. We are proposing peaceful and compromise solution for the future of Serbia, Dacic added.

Speaking about his recent visit to the USA, Dacic said that the situation there significantly changed with the arrival of a new administration and their approach now is to listen, have creative approach, approach supportive of reaching a compromise solution, which is very significant as it opens a way to the dialogue and sends a clear message to Pristina.

He added there would be no change in the format of the dialogue, saying such ideas were coming from Pristina side that was displeased with a situation in which solutions are searched for, since they are not ready for a compromise.

Dacic repeated Serbia would never accept a solution that is not in line with its national and state interests and that topics on Kosovo recognition or Kosovo membership to the UN are not on the agenda. According to Dacic there is only one agenda item, and that is we want dialogue, a compromise solution, so put proposals forward.

Asked if ethnic delineation is one of the solution, Dacic responded the fact that dialogue is open, creates the possibility for everybody to propose some creative solutions. This can be one of the solutions, but it does not mean it is the only one.

He also commented on an appeal sent by Raska-Prizren Eparchy Bishop Teodosije on the division of Kosovo, saying it is important that everybody present stances, and the Church should do the same.

Dacic elaborated on his meeting with USA Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, Wess Mitchell, saying he told him, Bishiop Teodosije is against division of Kosovo since monasteries would remain out of Serbia, people in southern Kosovo as well, and that Wess responded to him – aren’t they now already.

“I am not saying we should accept that reality. Maybe the Church thinks time does not matter, but for people living there, if they do not remain there we have nothing to talk about,” Dacic said, adding that Serbia proposes peaceful and compromise solution for the future of Serbia and positive agenda in the forthcoming period,” RTS reported.
