Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister, Enver Hoxhaj, continues to insist that it is time for the UNMIK mission to withdraw from Kosovo.
“UN peace operations work best when they are fit for purpose. UNMIK Kosovo has completed its mandate (SC/RES/1244) a decade ago. Since then it has become a financial burden for UN Peacekeeping. UNMIK has no purpose, it has no functionality, task or goal! It’s Time to close it,” Hoxhaj wrote on his Twitter account.
