One day prior to deadline to draft the Statue of the Association/Community of Serb-Majority Municipalities (ZSO), Srpska Lista does not believe Pristina would establish it, RTS reported.

Management Team members stated draft statute would be ready within a given deadline and they remain ready, at any moment, at Brussels request to present the text to the implementation councils and participants of a high-level dialogue, RTS added.

Srpska Lista MP, Igor Simic told RTS, Management Team worked hard to prepare the draft statute.

“They carried out the work well and responsibly and what remains is this draft statute to be presented to the Belgrade and Pristina negotiations teams in Brussels,” Simic said.

He added Srpska Lista and President Vucic are skeptical about Pristina’s intentions to make any step related to the establishment of ZSO.  Simic explained the issue is not about the powers ZSO would have, but about political will and “courage of Albanians to carry out their obligations.”

One day prior to the statute presentation, USA Embassy in Pristina commended the work of the Management Team and said they expect a flexible and creative solution when it comes to the ZSO Statute.

Simic believes statement from the USA Embassy would not be of much help, because there is no political will in Pristina to establish the ZSO.

He also touched upon latest KFOR exercise in Kosovo, saying KFOR scheduled this exercise three months ago and that he has no information on Pristina media reports related to Kosovo Police instruction sent to its members to interrupt their summer holidays.

He said life in Mitrovica North goes on normally, sending a plea on behalf of Srpska Lista that everybody who wishes to express an opinion, should do so, but not in a manner that causes uneasiness among citizens and spread disinformation.

Commenting on the statement of Albanian Diaspora Minister Majko on removing the borders between Kosovo and Albania, Simic said the only way to prevent the creation of “Great Albania” is to find sustainable solution which would please both sides – both sides to be slightly dissatisfied and both sides to be slightly satisfied, RTS reported.
