Chief of Kosovo Police Regional Operations in the North Zeljko Bojic told Radio kontakt plus security situation in the north of Kosovo is stable and police undertakes all the measures to keep it as such.
Radio kontakt plus also said some of the Mitrovica North citizens the radio interviewed said they are concerned due to different rumours one could hear over the last days related to the security situation in the north of Kosovo.
Bojic underlined the security situation is calm and stable, there are certain rumours, but the police can guarantee the safety of all citizens. He also refuted allegations of some media that the police interrupted holidays of its members.
“All police members who were on leave are still on the leave. Taking into consideration that a certain number of police members are on leave already, we have stopped approving leave plans, given that we have to undertake certain measures with the aim of preventive action,” Bojic said.
He said there are two operation plans police is implementing – summer season and increased traffic control, Radio kontakt plus reported.
