Vucic’s visit to Kosovo on September 9 will not be “a new Gazimestan” as some media announce it, but rather “anti-Gazimestan,” Serbian opposition MP and political analyst Djordje Vukadinovic told TV N1.

Vukadinovic termed comparison of Vucic’s visit to Kosovo with new Gazimestan as inappropriate, but it is media attractive. He assessed that Vucic is flirting and is well positioned, he has one face for his constituencies, in this case it is Gazimestan, no one will expel Serbs and on the other hand he presents him as a man of great reforms and cooperative.

Commenting on statement Vucic often tells recently “that Serbia has nothing in Kosovo” Vukadinovic said he disagrees with it. “It is not true we have nothing there. We do not have what we had in Milosevic’s time, but at least we had two Trump cards.”

“One is Resolution 1244, that Vucic is constantly degrading, and this is not a Trump card one should undermine. However, he renounces it, in a series of statements in which he disregards this Resolution, and the second Trump card we had was the north of Kosovo, the territory that is not insignificant, it is 11 to 12 percent of the territories that Serbs held,” Vukadinovic said.

Vukadinovic further added, Serbia lost these two Trump cards with the Brussels agreement in the performance of Aleksandar Vucic, Ivica Dacic and the current authorities.

“We let 90 percent of the north of Kosovo down the river with Brussels agreement, and Resolution 1244 is being undermined and it happens in a situation when our cards are not that strong (…),” Vukadinovic said, adding that the direction in which the current authorities are resolving the Kosovo issue is bad.

He assessed the authorities are trying to increase support not to improve the situation. Asked to comment on media reports that referendum on Kosovo would be a farce organized by authorities, Vukadinovic replied that this referendum “if there would be one” should be boycotted.
