Gracanica Municipal Assembly councillors voted for decision proposal to regulate cadastral lines between Gracanica and Kosovo Polje municipality, B92 reports.

Gracanica Mayor, Srdjan Popovic said they acted upon inhabitants’ request who addressed the municipality over easier administrative procedure and territorial proximity of the Kosovo Polje municipality.

According to Popovic, if responsible ministry in Pristina, confirms decision proposal, it would lead to initiation of a legal process to regulate cadastral lines between Gracanica and Kosovo Polje municipalities, and to “change of boundaries of cadastral zone Preoce and cadastral zone Ugrljare – Gracanica municipality.”

“Numbers and areas identified in the list relate to “Marigona” settlement. The municipality of Gracanica, tried to resolve this issue back in 2010, and attach this settlement to the Kosovo Polje municipality, since construction there was not in line with a municipal development plan, and the municipality had no legal possibility to stop construction, since permits were issued by Pristina municipality,” Popovic said.

All this, points to the complexity of the entire process, and municipality considers this is one of the best ways to resolve this issue. “Among others, by this we are stopping the change of ethnic structure in our municipality,” Popovic noted.

B92 also reported that 17 out of 19 municipal assembly councillors attended the session. Some of the municipal councillors, including those from Independent Liberal Party (SLS) were against the proposal, and Milena Zdravkovic from SLS said the public is not sufficiently informed about this proposal, and it is hastily made.
