The European Parliament has adopted an amendment related to talks on possible border corrections.

Secretary general of the European Movement in Serbia, Suzana Grubjesic, told Tanjug agency that the amendment was adopted as part of the solution within the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, in order to try to “pull out” Brussels dialogue from the deadlock.

Grubjesic says that the European Parliament thus “left space and gave a chance” for the talks to of the two parties to continue and to come up to a comprehensive agreement that would be acceptable to the both sides and for the international community.

She said that the story of the demarcation for the EP is certainly not over.

”If the Brussels dialogue fell into a blind-alley, by the way it has been conducted now, it is pragmatic and rational to seek, as they like to say, other creative solutions,” she said, adding that no topic should be taboo in the dialogue, and the one on border correction.

She agrees that the correction is not explicitly mentioned in the adopted amendment.

Grubjesic estimates that, although EP resolutions are not binding, the formal adoption of the said amendment can “echo” because EP resolutions are cited, monitored and analysed.

“This will certainly not go unnoticed, especially since it was accepted by the EP rapporteur for Serbia and the EP rapporteur for Kosovo,” she said.
