Russia will support every solution to the Kosovo issue, that is supported by the Serbian people and is in line with the Constitution of Serbia and UN SC Resolution 1244, BETA news agency reports. This was said during the meeting between the Serbian Minister for Innovations and Technical Development Nenad Popovic and Chairperson of the Russian Federation Committee for Foreign Policy, Konstantin Kosachov.
According to the Popovic Ministry’s statement, Kosachov said Serbian people in Kosovo can count on Russian support.
“I want to tell the Serbs in Kosovo that Russia stands by Serbian people and Serbia,” Kosachov underlined, adding that Russia would remain consistent in respecting the international law and UN SC Resolution 1244 which treats Kosovo as integral and inalienable part of Serbia.
Nenad Popovic expressed gratitude to Russia and the Russian President Vladimir Putin for principal support of Russia in preserving the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia, BETA news agency reported.
The two officials also discussed ways how to enable greater economic support for the Serb community in Kosovo, assessing that the economic perspective is crucial for their survival and remain.
