President Hashim Thaci of Kosovo claims French President Emmanuel Macron supports his controversial proposal for a border ‘correction’ with Serbia – despite strong opposition to the idea at home.
Kosovo President Hashim Thaci told the public broadcaster of Albania, TVSH, on Thursday that the French President, Emmanuel Macron, supports his idea about a border “correction” with Serbia that might enable ethnic Albanians living in southern Serbia to join Kosovo.
Thaci has been meeting the French leader at the summit of francophone nations taking place in Armenia.
“President Macron strongly supports the Kosovo–Serbia dialogue, the possibility of reaching an agreement within a short period of time, and the real possibility of border correction, which implies Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanovac joining Kosovo,” Thaci told TVSH.
