Jelena Milic, head of the Belgrade-based Center for Euro-Atlantic Studies (CEAS), said in an interview to RTK2 that Russia doesn’t want any kind of agreement between Serbia and Kosovo and that this is why Serbia is caught in a cross-fire. Commenting on the results of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic’s visit to Moscow, Milic said that despite the lack of any official information, it is apparent that Russia doesn’t want any progress in talks between Belgrade and Pristina. She further argued that delays in reaching an agreement between the two sides would give Russia more time to spread its influence in the region and use this for its own interests. “These interests primarily serve to discredit European policies in the region. This is why Serbia is caught in a crossfire,” she said.
