Nexhat Daci, President of the Kosovo Academy of Arts and Sciences and former President of the Kosovo Assembly, made numerous negative remarks toward internationals during the inauguration of his latest book in Pristina today, where President Hashim Thaci and Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj were also in attendance, the news website reports. Daci began his address with criticism against the UN Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK), saying that when he was Assembly President he was not allowed to have an office in the assembly building. “UNMIK did not allow for an office of the Assembly President or the Assembly Presidency. All these actions made me write long about the course of events and even today I can see that many parts of politics in the international community are not so honest toward Kosovo’s people and politicians. No other UN mission in the world won the title ‘a five-star mission’ like the UN mission in Kosovo, and unfortunately the international community believed that this was a merit of UNMIK. This was a merit of the people of Kosovo and their political leaders,” Daci said. He also called for support for state institutions and advised MPs not to boycott the assembly sessions or the processes that Kosovo is going through.
