The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) presented in Pristina yesterday the State of World Population 2018 report underlining that increase of housing costs, unfavourable policies for families and careers are some of the main reasons behind the decline of fertility across the world. Doina Bologa from UNFPA said everyone should have the right to choose the size of their family while UN Development Coordinator Ulrika Richardson said the timing of the UNFPA report is important as the topic of the right to choose is very relevant in Kosovo. “The right to choose is not related to numbers but to the right and the power to have as many children as you want,” she said.
